Hi, sorry. I'm new here and didn't realize I don’t get email notifications for new messages (or haven’t figured out how to get them). So regretfully, I just saw your message today. "Spot Gloss" or “Spot UV” is where a portion of the cover is glossy/shiny and other portions are matte/frosty. You can usually tell by holding it at an angle or running your fingertips gently across to feel the difference in the texture.
