Member since: October 11, 2011 Hey everyone! I have been collecting manga since 2004 (my collection has changed a lot in seven years). Presently, I own around 400 books. I have quite a few completed series but the majority of my collection consists of series with large holes or just a few of the first volumes. The reason for this is the store that I used to buy them at had only bits and pieces of series. They used to carry the most recent volumes (so a series with 20+ volumes in it would only have like 15+ available to buy). Eventually, this store, which had three huge book cases full of manga (it was actually a Sam Goody so imagine), stopped selling manga. In those years, my collection remained stagnant or might have actually dwindled from trading. But a few years ago, Sam Goody brought their manga back. Now, though, they only had one book "case" with manga. My collection was revived. Then, perhaps two years ago, Sam Goody went out of business. That left a small local bookstore and a Borders four hours (round trip) away. Well, seeing how the local store (not to mention used bookstores and a Goodwill) barely had any stock and the borders was hours away, I turned to the internet to feed the beast. It started on eBay and Amazon. But who likes paying full price for books or just buying the used ones that are available cheap? In a search for contacting one of my favorite authors, I found Goodreads. Goodreads all you have to do is pay shipping and the book is yours. The catch is, someone has to post the book for you to request it. So once again, there's that limited stock. All in all, I have received 300+ books from Goodreads (not all manga). Through Goodreads, I found the site Paperbackswap. I have received some books through them but nowhere near the amount I have through Goodreads. Then, earlier this October (2011), I found out the Goodreads is closing their swap at the end of the month! So my favorite site is out the window. Just a few days ago, a member of this site posted some books on Goodreads. S/he didn't like the fact that the swap was closing and told me that if I liked swapping manga I should come here. Thus, my account was born. While I do have around 400 books, I am not going to be trading them. I am trying to build up my collection, not maintain the same amount. Occaisionally, I come to posses books that I don't want/like or duplicates that I already have. It is these that I will be posting for trade. (Many of my duplicates have come from Goodreads because what I was paying was just the shipping cost and it was cheaper to order in bulk) Please check my wishlist to make an offer. If you don't have anything that is on my wishlist, I will invite you to do one of two things (or both if you feel so inclined). 1) Inquire about series that I have that have holes. In other words, say you have a book that you would like to trade and are curious if it is one that I need to fill the holes. Ask about the series and the volume that you have. I may or may not have it. If I don't, I will probably accpet it. 2) If you have volume 1 of a series that you would like to trade, inquire if I have it. I am always looking for new series to add to my collection but I would prefer if it is volume 1. I will, most likely, however accept it if I don't already have the series and it is an odd volume (any volume that is not 1). Please do not offer me any yuri. I am not a fan.
